Or Santa in the malls on November 13th! I started my second job as a cashier at Zales this week, and the mall is completely decked out for Christmas. Santa is slated to be in the mall next week! Yuck. I work for Matt's mom, and she had the radio on in the store yesterday. One station is playing Christmas music from now until New Years!!! Give me a break! I know that it's too early to be ready for Chrstmas when my birthday hasn't even passed. I'm sure many (or the few who actually read this) agree with me.

A Quarter of a Century!

On November 17th 2004, I will be 25 years old! Yes, a quarter of a century! I am depressed. I'm not big on my birthdays - after 21, birthdays haven't been all that different. But I'm going to be 25! 5 more years to being 30! Ouch! It's a big wake up call. I haven't really accomplished anything fantastic or great. Being old sucks! I graduated high school 7 years ago! I work with some younger kids - and they were like: "Wow - you're kinda old!" Boy, that made me feel better. NOT! It was right up there with Donna being called "Ma'am" by a three-year old cheerleader at HersheyPark! Hey - that made me feel better! Haha!

Farenheit 9/11

Last week, Matt joined Netflix - an online movie rental store. We rented a few movies, one of them being Farenheit 9/11. I myself have never liked George W, but this movie gave me a whole new reason to vote for anyone besides him. If Kerry wasn't running and a gorilla was, I'd vote for the gorilla! If you haven't seen this film (written and directed by Michael Moore) and you seriously dislike George W. Bush, I suggest you stop by your nearest video store and rent it (if they carry it).

Happy Birthday to Matt!

Happy Birthday to Matt!
Happy Birthday to you!

Ok ok... today is my baby's birthday!

Happy Birthday Matt - I love you!

YAY!

If any of you watch the Apprentice, you know that I (and a few others) had a strong dislike for Stacy R. Well, that's what he looks like. While still searching for a chihuahua, I looked up dog breeders on the internet. I found one in Princeton, NJ and she has a bunch of puppies, one who's named Blue. He's soooo cute and he only weighs 7 lbs!

Anywho, this weekend Matt and I are visiting my parents while my sister trots off to Seton Hill. I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! New York was awesome! We did so many things. We visited Ground Zero... where we were accosted by these Asian people handing out pictures of the planes that flew into the towers! On the fence there it is clearly posted that printed material of any kind is not to be handed out 25 feet from the site. The nerve of people! (Especially ones that don't speak English)

We walked to 42nd Street and visited Madame Tussauds. That is the coooolest - if you like Wax museums. If you've never been to one, I suggest it. It's neat. It's on 42nd between 7th and 8th.
But before that I saw Commerce Bank on 42nd and 9th. The stores there are so much nicer than the ones here.

After that, we went to H&M on 5th Ave. I LOVE that store. I bought three really neat t-shirts that were on sale for $5. Woo woo! We walked around alot and took a few cabs... I hailed them all! I love hailing cabs... I don't know why.

For lunch/dinner we ate at the JekyllandHyde club. If you've never been - it's a spooky and fun restaurant off of 57th St.

Anyways - time to sign off.

Ta ta kids!

New York, New York...

Yes folks, I'm goin' to New York! I also mentioned that I wanted to go to a new branch -and that I'm not going, but Rachel is. She had her interview with the manager of the new store yesterday...it was supposed to take half an hour...she returned three hours later. I don't know where she was the whole time, but my manager didn't seem to care. The store manager gave me an assignment to decorate our breakroom (we have seasonal competetions) yesterday. Last time, I got stuck doing all the work myself - so this time around I said "No - unless I get help." Well Rachel caught wind of it, took the ideas I had written down and ran with them! Grrrr! She told the manager about all the ideas SHE had! I cannot wait until she leaves in December.

Wow, after reading that I can see why Donna thinks I should look for a new job. The thing that sticks in my craw is that the managers don't seem to care and think I'm making too much out of this. Granted, I do tend to over react when it comes to certain things. I don't think I am this time though. Maybe I am... I don't know.

Wow, I c'nat bleieve tihs

This is from an e-mail Matt (Hi babydoll!) sent me:

" I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdgnieg> The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at> Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a> wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be> in the rghit pclae. I finally received my raise and my review! And it only took 5 weeks! A new Commerce Bank record! I would have received it earlier in the week, but my manager was out and no one else could have given it to me. Oy. When my manager, Dale (a female Dale) came into work on Friday, an e-mail from me awaited her. The e-mail asked "What is going on with my review???" She looked at me and said for the umpteenth time "I haven't forgotten - I just don't know where it is!"

Exqueeze me? Yeah, she couldn't find it. And after two hours of searching, she finally did. I got an excellent review full of wonderful comments and a 4% raise. Yes, that's right - instead of making $10.40, I will be making $10.82! I will not be getting a promotion however. They're giving it to an incompetent girl named Rachel! Do not get me started on this. I'm not bitter. I need to take more classes first at Commerce University. (A college like setting where they offer all the classes needed to move you up the Commerce ladder). If they want to let some incompetent, flighty, no talent bitch work at the new branch, so be it. That branch will have faults because of her, and I will remain in the spotlight!

Ha!

TechoGeckoChaCha and other things going on

Well, let me start off by saying thank you to Brian (also known as my pseudo-brother because he calls my dad "Dad"). He got people to read my blog! So, I've gone from having two people read, to maybe 3 or 4! Thanks Brian! Also shout outs to Julie and Karissa for commenting... I will add you to my "People" section soon.

I have created a Neopet. His picture is towards the bottom of my page. He is a Gecko named TechoGeckoChaCha. The reason is: Neopets are weird looking mostly... the gecko is a called a techo, not gecko. So that explains the first two parts. The Cha Cha part is the name of the Gecko at the Rain Forest Cafe in Atlantic City. I highly recommend getting a neopet...especially if you can't get a real pet. Another high selling point: No messes! Oh yeah, and it's a free site. Sign up today!

Update on my work situation (if you have been keeping up with my blog): I will be getting my raise hopefully tomorrow. They were talking about a teller who would be moving to the Neshaminy branch of Commerce when it opens in December. The Head teller, Kathy, looked at me and said to the Regional manager (over the phone) "I think Dan wants to go to that branch as well - it is closer to his house." She was right!
Well - to make a long story short: I may be going to a new branch as the "Senior Customer Service Rep." -that's like a level below Assistant manager. I don't want to jinx anything... BUT... how cooooool would that be? Not to toot my own horn but since I made the transition to a CSR, I've gotten nods from upper management saying they've heard I was doing an "awesome job."
Not too shabby if you ask me.
Oh yeah, I'm still waiting for my raise and evaluation by the way! It is time for me to vent publicly about my job! As I have blogged before, I work at Commerce Bank. I have been there for three years, and make minimal money. My sister, Donna, who works as a temp. makes more. I was scheduled to receive my yearly review August 13th. Here we are, September 8th, and still no review or raise. I spoke with my lazy manager today and she said it was done, but "had to be approved." GRRRR! Does anyone else think it should have been typed before it was due????

Schadenfreude!

Schadenfreude (pronounced SHAH-DEN-FROY-DA) is my new favorite word. I am back with just a quick entry for today.

Don't get me wrong... I think love is wonderful. However, at work yesterday, I waited on a man and young woman - who at first glance appeared to be father and daughter. This was not so... for when I looked at their drivers liscences... they were not related. Yes that's right... they were a couple and he was old enough to be her father! Now, this did not bother me nearly as much as for when they started making out at my desk! Ick.
I am NOT a fan of public displays of affection... most importantly in a bank! I mean - come on! (Sorry Donna - I know you fall into the category of a PDA-er). Maybe I am just bitter because if I were to hold Matt's hand in public I would be shot upon sight... unless I was in New York.
Well, that being said... it's time to go.

Jam tomorrow, jam yesterday, but never ever jam today

When I read that comment by Donna on Brian's blog - I nearly fell off my chair! In it was an article titled: "I want to look like..." and then a celebrity du jour next to pictures of several young women. All of these women wanted to look like their favorite celeb - right down to their undergarments! There were pictures of them all as "themselves" and then pics of them as their "celebs." I was semi-appalled at this. What happened to people wanting to be themselves? Isn't that good enough anymore? I suppose not, because last week while reading Glamour, there was a similar article. This was about three women who spent thousands of dollars on plastic surgery to look like Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie, and the ever popular "Posh Spice" (aka Victoria Beckham). Yeah, I don't get the last one either.
After getting home from work today and settling down in front of the tube, I found the MTV show "I Want a Famous Face." What the...? This episode featured a young blonde thing who wanted to be Britney Spears. I don't know who would want to be... but to each her own I guess.
I'll ask again: What happened to the days where girls (and boys for that matter) wanted to be themselves??? I can possibly see acting like a famous person and whatnot... but physically altering our bodies to look like that person??

I know Donna will have something to say about this!

Apparently I drive customers to commit suicide...

Yes, suicide. That's what one foreign customer named Kwamex told me over the phone today. He called once and asked one of the girls I work with if he could speak with a man. I got on the phone and he told me he wanted to speak to another man... apparently I wasn't man enough. He didn't want to wait for Omar (who is from New York and has the accent to match), so he hung up. He called back again, only to get me on the phone again... he mumbled something about a check bouncing and he wanted it to be paid. I checked into his account, and sure enough he had put his account into the negative 49 times this past year! (For those of you who don't understand banking... I will blog about that later). Anyway -to the point! He said he wanted all checks to be paid, and if they weren't, he would commit suicide. Oh my god! In my 3 years of banking I've never heard those words...! He also added that he was serious this time. Jeepers! I thank the latter two for the links on your respective sites. "Thank you."

So, today I had work...<yawn>. Busy busy as usual...lots of customers especially those of which do not speak English! This, if you didn't know, is my biggest pet peeve. Anywho, at 4:30, I get a call from a customer who I helped about a month ago. He works at an insurance company but is starting up an Internet business and asked if he could borrow me for 20 minutes to show me all about it. He didn't tell me much else, except I'd make a lot of money, yada yada. It sounded kind of shady to me. But I digress... after work, I went to visit Matt's mom at Zales - where she fixed my Movado. She is very sweet - I love her!

And finally, Reasons to stay at Franklin Commons:
1 - They needed to know if we were moving by Sept. 1st -
They sent the notice saying so about a week ago!
2 - We want to save $ for a house down the road and
don't want to waste it on another security deposit, etc...
3 - We have a lot more stuff and don't want to move now,
and again possibly next year.
4 - We are lazy. (just kidding)

Ok, that's all for now.

Hibbs out!

The trials and tribulations of Haloscan

OY! Everyone give a big cheer for expensive living! (stand up and do the "Wave")

About me: I am still trying to find a better paying job. Yes, that's right - "America's Most Convenient Bank" is NOT the "Greatest Paying Employer". I am scheduled for a raise for being there for 3 years - knowing my luck, I'll get a dime! Go figure. Anyhow, for now I am getting a part time job with ZALES -The Diamond Store.

About my blog: I still don't know how to link Donna's and Brian's blogs to my own... so once again, Brian, comment and let me know how. Also guys, it wouldn't hurt to advertise my blog on yours... HINT! I am still trying to figure things out... if you have any advice, it would be greatly appeciated.

And in the grand tradition of Ryan Seacrest:
Hibbs Out!

Back from the shore

Hey hey!
